Question:can i ask why you dislike buzzfeed? genuinely curious - Anonymous
I really don’t appreciate their highly clickable headlines as their main way to get attention. I’ve tried to read some of their “articles” and each time I get to the end I find myself in this place of cognitive dissonance, which is not the way I want to feel after I view a list of gifs and poorly taken screenshots.
Also, I hate that they call themselves real journalists. No, you aren’t. You can be one or the other. You can be the New York Times, the Slate, or the Atlantic or you can be more internet noise. But you need to pick one. People will respect quality content when they see it. On the other hand, some people just want to see kitties, puppies, and Ryan Gosling when they get on the Internet (which I’m not knocking).
If this comes across as intense, I apologize. That is not my intention. I’m just frustrated at the state of journalism in our country.
If anyone has any contradictory thoughts I’d like to hear them. But please don’t send me asks saying “because I say so”. Thanks.
